Kanthaswamy (2008) is a forthcoming high budget Tamil film directed by Susi Ganesan. shreya has decided to cut her hair for the film n also she has taken martial arts training with the martial arts master MUKUND.

are the lead actors in the movie. Its been confirmed that Vikram and Shriya SaranVivek, Santhanam and Raghuvaran play other roles. The sources close to the unit say that Vikram dons the role of Robin Hood in the film. Upon release, it will be subsequently dubbed into Telugu as Mallana.

The producer has given the film a marvellous opening by making a sophisticated invitation card for the opening ceremony of the film. The so called invitation itself has a LCD screen, which displays a 8 minute trailer of the movie "Kanthaswamy".

"This is a different idea which Hollywood even did not think about" says Kalipuli S. Dhanu. The team has shot a special video for this trailer and it is said that a single invitation card costs Rs. 15,000 ($375).

Ajith’s Next film

A couple of months ago Sivaji Productions had announced that it will produce a film with Ajith in the lead. Sameera Reddy was signed up to play his on screen pair. But, unfortunately, director Gautham Menon, who was supposed to have commenced the film in September, was tied up with Vaaranam Aayiram and Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikalam.

Later on he also returned the advance paid to him by Sivaji Productions. Due to this, Ajith's project was left hanging in the balance.

Meanwhile, the production house is scouting for a suitable director to take up the project. Vishnuvardhan, the director of Billa, was a strong contender in the race, but his present commitment with Sarvam seems to halt the progress as he will be available only after March. Other established directors like Prabhu Deva and KS Ravi Kumar are also busy with their own projects and are not in a position to take up Ajith's venture. It now looks like that all Ajith just needs is a suitable director.

Enthiran (The Robot) director Shankar’s dream project with Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai has generated a lot of interest among the fans. The director disclosed that after completing the shoot of Kuselan in a record period of just 85 days, the sets were being dismantled.

“When the men were dismantling Pasupathy’s shop, I had tears in my eyes. We had been shooting for 85 days and day in and day out we were shooting at that place and so, after a point you kind of get attached to it,” he said.“

The same was the case with actress Meena and actor Pasupathy. They were at home in that place and suddenly when the market place was being ripped apart, they felt bad about it,” he informed.

Producers Kavithalaaya and Seven Arts held press meet at Hotel Le Meridian in Chennai on Wednesday (June 18) evening and released the official stills of Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Kuselan Movie. This is a bi-lingual and will be simultaneously released in Tamil and Telugu.

In Telugu the name has been changed to Kathanayakudu instead of Kuseludu. The shooting of the movie is complete and is currently in the post production stage. The audio release of the movie will be on June 30 and the music is too good according to director P.Vasu.

Superstar Rajinikanth appears for a few minutes in Kuselan but in the movie’s posters and promotion he looms large.

That’s because a Rajinikanth appearance even for a minute can set the box office on fire and so the makers of Kuselan are all set to cash in on the superstar. Rajinikanth says the hype is making him nervous and people shouldn’t call it as his film because he is playing a cameo role.

“There’s already a lot of hype about the movie. I’m very nervous with everyone expecting it to run to a silver jubilee,” he says.

For the film’s makers though a bit of Rajinikanth is quite a lot. Distributors have sold Kuselan as a ‘Rajinikanth film’ for Rs 64 crore—that is more than what the superstar’s movie Sivaji was sold at.
